I don’t have time for a full prediction post, but thought I’d post my official banzuke guess. I am most unsure about what exactly is going to happen at the ranks from M5 to M10. We’ll find out in a week, but in the meantime, please chime in with your thoughts/guesses in the comments.

Still there is no rikishi on our banzuke with more than a half rank difference!

Maybe the decider between us will be Kusano, who is my optimistic M18e.

Kusano will be a heck of a story.
I am probably going to do historically bad this time. Going out on some limbs:
1) Takayasu leaps to Sekiwake.
2) Three komusubi slots (Kiri, and the Onami brothers)
3) Generally aligned with maegashira – but some important differences (some due to my extra komusubi slot). Still, Tanawashi over Abi, Tobizaru over Ura, Ounokatsu over Chura, Kinbo over Midori, Endo over Shishi, and Kayo over both Ryuden and Shonan. Finally, Nishikigi over Asakoryu.
Maybe U had to take the risk of doing historically bad to do hysterically good?
