American Sumotori Improves to 3-2
Late word this Monday night that in Tuesday action at the Kokugikan, American sumotori Wakaichro was victorious over Jonidan rank 56 rikishi Asanoshima. This improves Wakaichiro’s record to 3-2, and puts him back in winning territory. One more will will secure a winning record, or kachi-koshi, for this tournament.

Here’s hoping that he gets his KK and we get to see more of him. It must have been great to get to talk in English to a rikishi! :)
He’s also a really nice, down to earth guy. He’s got charisma and if his sumo advances him, he will make a great ambassador for sumo to a large and untapped US market.
