Hello sumo fans, it’s time to get Tachiai’s coverage of the Kyushu basho rolling, and what better way to start than with the dohyo matsuri. After not streaming it (as far as I could tell) for Aki, it looks like the NSK is going to provide video of the ceremony Saturday morning Japan time, which works out to Friday evening US time.

I find these events quite interesting, as they help provide a cultural context for the supporting event, and I think that streaming these has done quite a bit to open sumo to a broader audience.
