In his day 6 match, Wakaichiro lost to Tochimitsuru, dropping his record for Kyushu to 1-2. As can be seen from the video (it’s the second match in this video), Tochimitsuru gets the better of the tachiai, and has an inside hand position before Wakaichiro can respond. Tochimitsuru uses this advantage to back Wakaichiro up to the tawara, and pushes Wakaichiro out.

We expect Wakaichiro back on the dohyo over the weekend, and we will continue to cover his efforts to return to Sandanme in 2019.
