Unboxing some Tachiai Merch

Sumo-Evolution

Have you ordered your gear from the Tachiai Shop yet? No? Well, that’s silly.

As some of our readers know, I spent quite a bit of time around the Natsu basho in Tokyo, and when I came home, I had my order from the shop waiting at my doorstep. Good thing no one took it, because it’s full of cool stuff!

If you’re like me, when you order something exciting, there’s always a sense of anticipation opening the box. And, if you’re curious what the products in the shop will look like when they are arrive, how they are packaged, etc – then join me as I discover the wonderful gift of sumo t-shirts in the (very DIY) below video that I slapped together:

Check it out! We’re excited that so many cool people are already wearing the gear around Tokyo…

  1. Hi Tachiai :) You have great stuff in your store, the only problem is to choose what to buy XD I just have one question: in women t-shirts, do you recommend to buy a number up the regular number? For instance, I’m a medium, should I get a large? Because they look very tight in the image. And how about the hoodies? Thanks :)

    • I found the one I bought to run pretty small. I would order up. Possibly they are meant to fit tightly.

          • Thank you :) I’ve just received two t-shirts that I’ve ordered. I’ve ordered a number up, and I recommend it to any women who what to order some, it fits perfectly, with my normal number it probably would be very tight. The only “problem” is that they have different lengths, I thought that all women t-shirts had the same style, but I still love them both :)

  2. So they seem to be about ½ size small to me. They are in fact, amazing quality shirts. I was a bit worried due to the price that I would be disappointed. I am the kind of guy who would rather spend a bit more and get quality. This does in fact deliver. I love and adore these shirts now, and they are some kind of sumo fan magnet. I wore mine out last weekend and I found two new sumo fans in the DFW area. The question they all asked was “WHERE DID YOU GET THAT SHIRT?”

    • Mine’s arrived and will be going to the gym in the next day or two; will report back re whether anyone recognizes the glorious green macaron of victory.

    • Hey Yamanashi – I’m based in the US and they actually ship to many countries around the globe. We’re working to get the default prices changed from GBP over to USD

Here’s the list of countries the shop delivers to:

Austria, Albania, Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Mexico, Moldavia, Monaco, Montenegro, Montserrat, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, United Kingdom, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, USA, Uzbekistan

    • I live just outside DC and have received my first 2 orders so far. Just ordered some Father’s Day stuff for my dad the other day.

  3. I’m a bit worried about import tax. I live in Belgium and I want to avoid paying twice the price of a t-shirt because of the taxes. Any info on that? From where are these guys shipping?

    • I’ll check. They’re based in the UK and my orders have come with Netherlands Post tracking. A few people posting on Twitter have been in the EU, like from Germany.
