Injured Ankle in Day 12 Bout With Endo

Late word from the Japanese press that Ozeki Goeido has withdrawn from the Hatsu Basho due to an injury to his ankle sustained in his bout with Endo.  Goeido was due to fight sole tournament leader Kisenosato on day 13.  As a result, Kisenosato will receive a free win over Goeido.

Somehow, the Great Sumo Cat of the Kokugikan is smiling on Kisenosato, sweeping aside all obstacles.  But part of me worries he will still find a way to defeat himself.
