It seems that Hakuho is out of surgery, and the effort to repair his big toe (and from the look of the after surgery picture, his ankle) is complete. We wish the boss a speedy and pain-free recovery, if at all possible.

So looking for injury information on rikishi in the current basho, I ran across this from the Yomiuri Shimbun – it seems that Hakuho is also being evaluated for knee surgery as well. I am working to see if there are more details on if they are going to fix that knee or try to let it heal. Sorry for the full Kanji link
