Narō was an internet based education platform with a variety of courses on Japanese culture. One of those courses featured Konishiki teaching people about sumo. The Narō team sat down with the former Ozeki for three days in March 2022. He brought in some former wrestlers for a live demonstration of techniques, excercises and traditions, as well as several hours of sit-down interview footage.
He continues to do this at his Sumo+Sushi events. Tachiai contributor, Justin (aka Hochiyama), and myself brought our wives with us both times Konishiki brought the show to DC. We got in the ring, too.
We have been sumo fans for decades. These courses, and the Sumo+Sushi events, are a good mix for sumo newbies as well as old hats, like us. As KRS-ONE and Konishiki would say, this is “Edutainment.” Learn and have fun.
Well, Tachiai acquired the footage when Narō folded. So, we’re putting everything out there. Apologies for the delay. Plans change and time is not the friend of someone who always plans to do things, “next weekend.”

Raw Footage
There is a lot of footage from interviews which ended up getting clipped from the final course. I’m going to be uploading everything in bits and pieces. As I mentioned in my introductory post, I don’t have the capacity for making the super-cuts that I had planned. So, I’ll flood you all with everything. So far, I’ve just got the one raw video posted.
