Opponent Ryuki Flattened

During his fifth match, Wakaichiro faced Michinoku heya’s Ryuki, who is a former Sandanme rikishi who missed 3 tournaments and is back in Jonokuchi. The match was over in the blink of an eye, as Wakaichiro’s initial thrust leveled Ryuki, sending him sprawling backwards. From the look of it, Wakaichiro’s hair is still a work in progress, it would seem the Japan Sumo Association wanted to try to tame is ever growing afro (rikishi grow their hair long).

This brings Wakaichro’s record to 3-2 for his first tournament, with 2 matches remaining. Jonokuchi wrestlers only fight 7 times per tournament, so a kachi-koshi of 4 wins is still within reach.
